Apr. 9, 2009 (China Knowledge) - Chinese stocks ended higher on Thursday, boosted by the finance sector.

The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index, which covers both A shares and B shares on the Shanghai Stock Exchange, went up 1.38% or 32.49 points to 2,379.88 points after fluctuating between 2,380.94 and 2,331.88 points.

The Shenzhen Component Index on the smaller Shenzhen Stock Exchange rose 1.5% or 133.34 points to 9,030.31 points, after touching an intraday low of 8,816.08 points.
